Validity of the Kazakhstan Voluntary Certificate

A voluntary certification procedure with the issue of a voluntary certificate of conformity on a special form and granting of subsequent rights to mark a product may be carried out if a conformity attestation is required for indicators not included in mandatory certification (when requested by the product customer) or if the product must be marked with the voluntary RK certification symbol.

Voluntary certification is optional for the manufacturer, seller or buyer. Voluntary certification may not substitute for mandatory certification and is applicable as additional proof of conformity to requirements (standards).

At present, voluntary certification in Kazakhstan is carried out for products that are neither on the mandatory certification lists nor subject to TR, or for products subject to mandatory certification with preliminary performance of all mandatory procedures.

Objects covered by voluntary attestation (voluntary certification) of conformity include products; manufacturing, operating, storage, transportation, sale and disposal processes; work and services; and other objects for which requirements are established by standards and contracts.

When an Application for a voluntary certificate is filed with the conformity attestation body, the same documents must be submitted as for mandatory certification, but in this case, the applicant determines the attestable indicators.
